Having presented the 2021 X5 M and X6 M Competition First Edition models a couple of months ago, BMW has now announced pricing and availability in Australia.
Out of the entire global allocation of 250 units for each model, Australians will get only four X5 M and another four X6 M Competition First Edition models, with a driveaway price set at AU$264,900 (US$199,495) and AU$273,900 (US$206,272) respectively.
Local deliveries will kick off in the first quarter of next year, but customers can already order a build slot online for a AU$5,000 (US$3,765) deposit. Subsequently, the preferred dealer will be informed to carry out the consultation concerning the spec of the car and they will then discuss delivery details.
Available in the BMW Individual’s bespoke paint finishes of Frozen Marina Bay Blue and Frozen Dark Silver, the two SUVs ride on exclusive 21-inch front and 22-inch rear Jet Black alloy wheels. The exterior is adorned with carbon fiber side mirror caps and engine cover, while the X6 M Competition adds a lightweight rear spoiler as well.
The cabin is upholstered in bi-tone Silverstone/Night Blue BMW Individual Merino leather and features black Alcantara inserts, Sakhir Orange contrast stitching, Night Blue and carbon fiber trim, and ‘First Edition 1/250’ lettering. Standard equipment also includes a panoramic glass roof, rear roller sunblinds, heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, BMW Drive Recorder and others.
Power is supplied by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that delivers 460 kW (625 PS / 616 HP) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with active M differential. The X5 M and X6 M Competition take just 3.8 seconds to accelerate from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph).
